BAVARIA, BAVARIAPARK
The Bavaria-Statue, a striking landmark of Munich, rises majestically on the Theresienwiese. Just a short walk from Hotel Uhland is the Bavariapark, which surrounds the statue and offers a tranquil setting for relaxation as well as an impressive view of the Bavaria. The Bavaria statue, an important symbol of Bavarian identity, was commissioned by King Ludwig I in 1850 and designed by the sculptor Ludwig Schwanthaler to represent the strength and independence of Bavaria through an impressive bronze figure.
